Harvey started working in the hay fields on Marys River Ranch when he was twelve years old. Later in life, he retired from the Public Works Departent of the City of Elko, Nevada after thirty three and a half years of service.
He has been hunting the Snake Mountains on the private property of Marys River Ranch since 1960.
